Step 1: Learn the 22 Components
Drawing on years of research and personal experience, Charlotte reviews each of the four domains and 22
Framework components. In three hours of insightful video, Charlotte offers teachers a coherent
collection of practical classroom strategies and techniques to enhance their skills in each component
area. Charlotte then explores why each component of the Framework is important and how they work
together to define "good teaching." Using an array of examples, Charlotte examines the challenges your
teachers will face in achieving a "distinguished" level for each component.
The final module of the program features compelling video of new teachers posing frequently asked
questions directly to Charlotte.
The program also includes four multiple-choice assessments to ensure comprehension. To assist with
accountability, administrative reports are available to monitor viewing progress and assessment
completion. These are optional features that many school districts find useful.

What’s New 2022? An Overview of the Danielson Framework for Teaching 2022
Course Description: With a new focus on themes for the whole child, cultural competence and student ownership, the Framework for Teaching (FfT) was updated in 2022. The FfT uses new terminology throughout each domain, component and element. In this course, you will learn the new naming conventions and gain practical insights into each and every domain through expert analysis and classroom videos. Learn what changed in an easy to follow comparison between the 2011 and 2022 versions of the FfT.

Step 2: Watch real classroom examples
Nothing is more effective than observing master teachers in action. To provide this critical visual component to the Framework training, teachers, administrators and paraprofessionals complete the program entitled “Charlotte Danielson’s Teaching Framework: Looking at Real Classrooms.” This engaging online program includes over 6 hours of online video and is packed with 106 real classroom examples. The program features meaningful observations from various grade levels and disciplines. During the classroom observations, your teachers and administrators have the unique opportunity to listen as Charlotte Danielson critiques the instructional strategies shown in each video… and then explains how they relate to components of the Framework. If a picture is worth a thousand words, this program is an invaluable resource for every teacher and administrator
Step 3: Master the complete evaluation cycle
In this comprehensive online program Charlotte walks you through every step of the evaluation process.
Evaluators will gain valuable insight as they learn how to collect evidence, determine performance
levels, use artifacts and conduct meaningful teacher conferences. In eight hours of powerful video,
numerous guided practice opportunities are offered for evaluators to sharpen their skills.
Administrators can compare their notes with Charlotte’s to see if they collected the same evidence and
reached similar conclusions regarding the levels of performance exhibited in each video. The program was
also developed to help reduce the anxiety teachers experience during the transition to a new evaluation
system.
The program includes eight multiple-choice assessments that your school system might require to ensure
mastery and verify that each teacher and administrator has completed the program.
Step 4: Build inter-rater reliability
To ensure inter-rater reliability, your school system must be confident that a proficient or
distinguished rating means the same thing to each evaluator. In addition, your evaluators need the
ongoing ability to practice their teacher evaluation skills and compare /calibrate their results. To
meet this critical need, EI has created its new “Teacher Evaluation Practice
Center.”
Using a wide range of real classroom video, indexed by grade and discipline, the practice center offers
evaluators a wealth of rich practice opportunities. Each evaluator can compare both evidence collected
and performance level determinations with expert ratings. Unlike other online tools, EI’s teacher
evaluation practice center includes video of the FULL CYCLE, including pre-conference, full classroom

Step 5: Develop mentors & coaches
In this unique 10-hour online program, we follow the journey of three first year teachers. Watch as the Danielson Framework is used to coach and mentor these teachers through their first year challenges. Periodically throughout the year each teacher is filmed in action in the classroom. Each teacher’s classroom lesson is followed by a coaching session with their mentor…all captured on video! Watch first hand as an experienced mentor uses the components in the Danielson Framework to lay the groundwork for instructional improvement. This innovative online program combines reality television with compelling professional development to give learners a rare look at how the Danielson Framework can be used by coaches and mentors to meaningfully impact the performance of three new teachers.
Step 6: Provide targeted professional development in each component
The hallmark of a great evaluation system is the teacher improvement derived from the results. Following each evaluation, your administrators now have the ability to immediately prescribe a personal learning plan for each of their teachers.
